Sustainability is necessary in order to live in a healthy environment. With ingredients, hygiene and more efficient manufacturing, we help organizations every day to make the best products. But also to do it more sustainable. For the consumers and companies of today and tomorrow. We challenge ourselves at Synerlogic to take important extra steps every day.
Our reduction of CO2-emissions
Reduction in CO₂ emissions is an indicator of sustainability and an important topic for Synerlogic. With the CO₂ Performance Ladder, significant steps have been taken since 2018 in CO₂ reduction, aiming to be CO2 neutral by 2050.
In 2024, we did not fully achieve our reduction target, mainly due to the growth of our leased vehicle fleet and an increase in business travel resulting from more client visits. On Sustainability Day, the tyre pressure of our colleagues’ cars was checked. Thanks to this initiative, they are now driving safely with the correct tyre pressure. Over three months, we also saved 588 kilos of CO₂, 167 litres of fuel, and reduced tyre wear – benefiting both the wallet and the environment. Through various projects, colleagues are continuously encouraged to cycle more often.

What methods does Synerlogic use:
- The responsible Care method. Responsible Care is a framework that challenges companies in the chemical sector to make their own processes sustainable, but ultimately also those of their environment and their entire supply chain.
- EcoVadis takes care of the independent assessments. They keep us challenged on the important sustainability criterias.
For sustainability we focus on three points: Climate, recycling and health.
Climate
A livable climate has a direct effect on the quality of our ingredients. We want to be able to supply our costumers with the highest quality products. And therefore, we want our customers to maintain a healthy market. That is why we are 100% committed to sustainability.
Green, greener, greenest
The EU has set a climate objective whereby all the European companies must achieve a 49% reduction in CO2 by 2030, compared to 1994. We are proud to have reduced our CO2 emissions by no less than 56% since 2018. We have done this for instance by saving on water, electricity and fuel consumption, for instance. With this, we have amply achieved the European climate targets. We are also committed to reducing CO2 emissions throughout the chain and sector, together with our customers and relations.
Participation in initiatives
Synerlogic participates in the Green Alliances de Liemers (GA). The GA works with companies, governments and educational-research institutes on the sustainability and future-proofing of the business parks in Duiven.
In addition, Synerlogic participates in the project recycling NVZ. This project focuses on plastic packaging and the cleaning sector.
Recycling
We demand more resources than the world can give us. Finding ways to use resources and raw materials more than once is therefore essential. We have believed in this way of thinking for many years and it is reflected in our sustainable solutions.
Saving millions of kilos on packaging
In the Netherlands, we recycle a total of 243 million kg of plastic packaging per year. At Synerlogic we find it important to contribute to this. That is why we are using our own rinsing line since 1996.
We collect the empty and uncleaned packaging from our customers, after which we carefully check them, clean them and reuse them. Because of our recycling process we have saved millions of kilos on plastic packaging over the years.
We give pallets a new lease of life
We are a logistics company, so we work with pallets. Lots of pallets. Finding a great method for reusing pallets saves a lot of them. Together with a pallet repair specialist, we check incoming pallets and repair them. As a result we can re-use our pallets safe and sustainable for your products. In recent years, we have given tens of thousands of pallets a new life.
Real water saving, no greenwashing
Wherever chemistry is used, a lot of water is used. Here lies a great responsibility for Synerlogic. Therefore, we have implemented a number of changes in our production planning and processes, by starting to reuse rinse water, which enabled us to realize water savings
Health
The healthier our society, the more productive we can be. We value the health of our employees and their environment.
Hand in hand
A fit employee is a productive employee. That is why we at Synerlogic regularly participate in sporting events and encourage employees to cycle to work. Our team becomes healthier and we reduce our emissions even further. With our cycling plan, we have further reduced total emissions by 1.8% in 2020 compared to 2019.
